The Plant is a network of three church meetings. Each of these, and The Plant as a whole, is a group of Christian people who live, work or study in Manchester or Salford.
We aim to make all our meetings friendly, informal and accessible, especially if you’re not used to church or Christian ideas. The Plant has been founded to serve all those who live and work in and around campus and beyond, but with a particular focus on students and graduates.
Each week at our main meetings we spend time getting to know each other over a meal; and getting to know God better by reading the Bible, hearing the Bible being explained, and then discussing what it means for us. We also spend time praying to God.
We also run prayer meetings and courses, including enquirers courses looking at the basics of Christian beliefs. We also have people available to pray and read the Bible in pairs or small groups.
Our main aim is to see more people hearing the message of the Bible, coming to faith in Jesus Christ and being supported, trained and equipped to follow Jesus Christ for the rest of their lives. Various different sorts of people are involved in The Plant such as students (including internationals and postgraduates); recent graduates and other workers; and families.
The Plant is an independent church that works closely with various other local churches and Christian organisations (see Affliliations).
