Supporting The Plant

Ways to support us

The Plant family extends beyond Greater Manchester through Plant Supporters. These are ordinary Christians who have agreed to encourage The Plant during our first few years. The Bible commends such "partnership in the gospel" and we are very grateful for those who are faithfully supporting us.

Although The Plant is now more firmly established, we still welcome new Plant Supporters. Please e-mail support@theplant.net for more details.

Prayer

The apostle Paul said that his partnership with the Philippian church led him to pray for them (read Philippians 1.3-5). Prayer is the key commitment that Plant Supporters make to us. We'll inform your prayer with a termly prayer letter, a monthly prayer calendar and occasional e-mails about particularly exciting or important developments.

Financial

Plant Supporters are not required to make any financial commitments and we plan to be financially self-supporting very soon. However, this is one of the ways that the Bible encourages Christians to work in partnership and we expect about a fifth of our income to come from Plant Supporters in 2006-07. The Plant is a registered charity (no.1108310).

Time

We welcome visits from Plant Supporters at any of The Plant's regular meetings. There are also occasional opportunities for Plant Supporters in the Greater Manchester area to help out in other ways.

In December 2006, we held our first Plant Supporters' Weekend: a chance to say 'thank you' and report back on progress so far. The Supporters who came seemed to appreciate this opportunity and we will consider holding another.
