Welcome, Students
Many students come to The Plant with questions about faith, or no faith at all. We believe that university is a great time to find out about Jesus and the gospel. So we welcome skeptics, agnostics, atheists and those with other faiths to come along, ask questions and dialogue.
The Plant churches are very student friendly and supportive of the university Christian Unions, with many CU leaders and UCCF Staff Workers coming to the churches. We encourage students to get involved in these 'mission teams on campus' as well as church:
Manchester Metropolitan University Christian Union on Facebook
University of Manchester Christian Union
University of Salford Christian Union (also on Facebook)
Royal Northern College of Music Christian Union on Facebook
We hope that you will find a home with us. We believe that students get the most out of church when they are fully involved in church life. Students who join a Plant church as full members, often find they are quickly learning and serving as part of the community.
Students at Salford University should check out the Living Word, Salford.
Students at RNCM, Manchester Metropolitan and the University of Manchester are closest to our Monday@7 and Grace Church Manchester churches.
All Plant students are invited to Real Food, a meaty Bible study that is suitable for vegetarians! Real Food Manchester takes place on Sunday evenings, and Real Food Salford is on Tuesday lunchtimes.
International Student? Come to Cafe 3-16!
This cafe is run for international students, and meets during term time on Wednesday afternoons. The Plant partners with the universities' Christian Unions in this venture. For more information see their website.
STUDENTS
One of the great things the Plant achieves is that it is accessible, seeker friendly, informal (dare I say it, contemporary?) and has a great emphasis on community, whilst at the same time being fully Gospel centred, and rock-solid doctrinally, with Christ being the foundation of all that it does. This is a rare combination, and I feel privileged to call it my 'home church'!
