Each year we take on one or two recent graduates as Ministry Trainees at The Plant for one or two years.
This is a training post, and an ideal opportunity to explore how God might want you to serve him in the future. We hope that being a trainee at The Plant will be a very exciting and challenging experience.
Ministry trainees are directly involved in gospel ministry at The Plant, under the supervision of the Leadership Team. Depending on the individual, he/she may be involved in such things as studying the Bible one-to-one with members of the church; teaching in small group and whole church settings; helping with practical tasks; and engaging in evangelism among students. Ministry Trainees also have the opportunity to develop an area that interests them - previous and current trainees have developed our music, mission partnerships, womens' ministry and several other areas of church life. Each trainee is also part of the team which helps run their meeting, and is involved in supporting the Leader of that meeting.
Our Ministry Trainee scheme is offered through the North West Partnership and trainees will spend Thursdays during term time on the NWP's excellent Ministry Training Course. Our Ministry Trainee scheme is also part of the 9:38 web.
During the first few years of The Plant, ministry trainees need to be able to raise a significant proportion of their living costs, although a grant may be available and all expenses are paid.
