Mini-groups

Minigroups (formerly known as BRPs)

These are groups of two, three or four people of the same gender who meet together weekly or fortnightly to study the Bible, pray together and support each other. If you are a church member, we would really encourage you to be part of one of these, so you can come to know Jesus Christ more, and be supported by and a support to your brothers or sisters in Christ.

If you would like to join a minigroup, or know more, please email phil@theplant.net

Syllabus

Mini-groups study those parts of the Bible that already been covered in The Plant's main meeting teaching programme. This is simply to ensure that people don't get an overload of Jeremiah or something! It also means that recordings of old Plant talks (found here) can function as a study aid. If the members of a mini-group wanted to, they could even use their meeting to discuss the talk from the previous weekend's Plant meeting.

In addition to the above, Mini-groups may also choose to base their studies on one or more of the following resources:

  • The Simply Christianity course (based on Luke's gospel)
  • Man of God / Biblical Womanhood - study books published by The Good Book Company
  • Full of Promise - an overview of the Old Testament published by The Good Book Company
  • Read Mark Learn: Mark (until we've taught through the whole of one of the gospels!)
  • 2 Timothy (if mini-group members are particularly interested in exploring church leadership)
